A healthy lifestyle includes being active an hour a day.

It can be fun—really.

Good news: we all need to play a little more—just make sure it’s active play. Everyone, adults and children alike, should be physically active for at least an hour a day for a healthy lifestyle. Why? Lots of reasons: it increases metabolism, reduces your appetite, boosts immunity against diseases, puts in you a good mood and even protects against depression!

But that doesn’t have to mean running in circles or doing pushups. Try taking a family walk, dancing to your favorite music, going swimming or playing hide and seek. Even yardwork and some household chores can count. Best of all, you’ll be enjoying your family while being physically active—and doesn’t that sound like fun?
